Sun Protection Tips From a Guy Who Loves Summer Time

Sheer Miracle Powder AM / PM - Devezin Cosmetics

Surfing, Paddle-boarding or just having fun in the Sun can be so much fun that you might forget to take the necessary precautions. Here, get a pro's tips on how to keep your skin and hair healthy.

Fit celebs like Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, and Julia Roberts have all been photographed paddleboarding, and many others have been brave enough to ditch the paddle and go straight for the surfboard. However, having fun out on the water — under the sun — can take a toll.
Here's what I recommend-

Cover up! The dose of sun you get when you’re out all day is intense. So a natural sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and lip balm with SPF. Devezin also suggests wearing a long-sleeve rash guard (like the ones made by Athleta) and encourages his surfer girls to wear long board shorts, which come down to the knee, to protect their skin from the sun, and their legs from getting chafed by the board.

Rinse. Help protect your hair by rinsing and saturating it with freshwater before going into the ocean. When you come out, rinse yourself off, and rinse out your gear and your bathing suit to stave off the corrosive effects of the salt.
Tread lightly. Eric believes that complicated beach shoes are both tacky and a waste of time. In his opinion, the ultimate beach shoe for protecting your feet is a light flip-flop that you can quickly slip on and off, like the ones made by Havaianas.

Have fun! “We make women out of girls.” Since 1999, Eric and his crew of professionals have taught thousands of women how to look good and feel good. Says Eric: “It’s an absolutely life-changing experience. It’s far more than just having fun in the Sun — it’s a lifestyle that connects you to your soul. It’s powerful.”

The skin can have some redness or bumping, which can be helped by ice. There is also the occasional ingrown hair, which can be iced, and then have anti-bacterial cream applied to ward off infection. Aestheticians recommend gently exfoliating the pubic area before the wax, and then doing so regularly after the wax to cut down on ingrown hairs. If you want to look your best in a tiny bikini, the Brazilian wax is the way to go. However, there are plenty of things you need to consider before showing up for your appointment. You need to get your body ready, but also consider your state of mind, particularly if it’s your first time. Avoid Trimming The ideal length of hair for the best bikini wax is between 1/8" - 1/4". Anything shorter will not deliver satisfied result…

Get Ready for Summer

One of the easiest ways to update your makeup bag each season is to add in current color trends. And while it’s probably inadvisable to replace your whole makeup kit with a fleeting palette-du-jour, adding a few fresh products can go a long way. Accessories, especially, are a smart way to incorporate timely hues, and many of us switch those up anyway. One prime example: A new eye-shadow in lilac is a stylish asset that can take you through spring and summer. Follow our social media to see the color trends to know about now, along with impactful products in each category. If you can’t decide which you’ll use most, we recommend one of the featured Devezin products, which are as functional as they are fashionable.
With summer here, it's time to reach for the sunscreen. But not everyone is convinced that skin protection is a necessity. "Older adults grew up at a time when unprotected skin exposure wasn't a cardinal sin, and many I talk to think a little sun is good for them. …
